ATTENDANCE
- Attendance at all organized academic activities is compulsory except for valid reasons like hospitalization/ sick at home/duly sanctioned leave.
- Leave application should be submitted before proceeding on leave. All students will ensure that they are punctual at their places of duty.
- 100% attendance is recommended for all students for appearing University Examination.
LEAVE
All leave applications (Regular & Medical) shall be submitted in time, to HOD and concerned teachers for sanction by Principal.
REGULAR LEAVE
Vacation : 3 weeks
Holidays : 1 weeks
Examinations and Preparatory holidays: 2 weeks
Regular holidays are given as per the discretion of the college authorities.
DRESS CODE
- Female students: Must wear churidars with sleeves that are half-length, 3/4-length or full length with full length pant. Any attire that does not meet these requirements is not permitted specially dress & skirts.
- Female students are expected to neatly put up their hair in College
- Male Students Must wear full-length pants and shirts free of any writing, slogans, or graphic designs Shirts should be neatly tucked in.
- Boys must have short haircut and in clean shave.
- Hawaii type rubber or plastic chapels are not permitted
- All students are expected to keep the nails trimmed. Students are expected to maintain professional decorum.
- Students shall not make any alterations to the Uniform issued from the college without the permission of the concerned HOD and any violation of this will lead to disciplinary action.
- All the students are expected to attend all college functions in college uniform unless otherwise specified.
- All the students shall wear their identity cards, well displayed. Identity badge is a public document and any teaching staff and non teaching staff shall have the right to peruse it. Denial of that alone invites disciplinary action.
- All kinds of tattooing, body piercing, hair styling etc. that goes against the existing social norms and which could go against the spirit of TCN academic values will not be appreciated.
CAMPUS CODE OF CONDUCT
- All are expected to maintain the highest standards of discipline and dignified manner of behavior inside as well as outside the College campus. They shall abide by the rules and regulations of the College and should act in a way that highlights the discipline and esteem of the College.
- A six day working schedule from Monday to Saturday is followed. Classes are scheduled from 8.00a.m. to 5p.m.
- The classes will begin with a prayer song which will be played through P.A System. The students shall stand in attention till the prayer ends. Those who are standing outside the classroom are also expected to follow this.
- All are requested to check the college notice board every day morning and evening.
- All are expected to be present in the duty/class well -within time and 3 consecutive /regular late coming may led to loss of attendance .
- Students shall rise from their seats when the teacher enters the class room and remain standing till the teacher takes her/his seat or they are allowed by the teacher to sit. Silence shall be observed during class hours.
- Teachers shall be greeted appropriately with "Good Morning Sir/Miss" or "Good Afternoon Sir/Miss" and a " Thank you Sir/Miss" when the teacher leaves the class room.
- No student shall enter or leave the class room when the session is on without the permission of the teacher concerned.
- Students having clinicals in the FN or AN, have to report to the clinical supervisor directly in time before starting their clinicals.
- In the events of Student seminars/project presentations etc., it is compulsory that all the students of the concerned class be present for the entire session.
- Students can leave the campus during class hours only after getting a gate pass from the Principal, HOD, or the tutor and after making entry in the Gate Register maintained by the gate keeper.
- All students shall leave the classes immediately after 5 p.m. No students shall wander or gather in verandah, corridor, and staircase etc. Do not spend much time in coffee shops nearby the campus.
- Students are allowed to enter the Principal’s office, with the permission from CA to principal.
- Students are requested to maintain all the professional etiquettes ethical and professional standards both inside and outside the college, hospital, hostel and community premises.
- If the students have any problem, they should inform the immediate concerned teacher/class co-ordinator/Principal Exceptions are allowed only if the problem is utmost urgent /serious.
DISCIPLINE
- Discipline is the foundation on which the institution functions. It is incumbent on all to develop self-discipline of the highest degree.
- It should, therefore be the endeavor of all to observe all the rules and regulations as a matter of habit rather than because of fear of the consequences.
- Students will at all times, conduct themselves with proper decorum and cultivate correct manners and etiquettes.
The following rules are bound to abide by all the staff and students of the institution as per the related areas.
USE OF COLLEGE AND COLLEGE PREMISES
- All are expected to maintain silence in the academic buildings to maintain the decorum and, any deviant behavior such as hooting, whistling, loitering etc. will be treated as an instance of indiscipline.
- For independent study, students are expected to use the class rooms, library or the demarcated areas of the academic building and shall not resort to sitting in staircases or circulation areas where they could interfere with the free movement.
- Students are encouraged to make use of the library, common computing facilities and to involve in professional body activities or any program authorized by the college beyond class hours. However, under normal circumstances students shall retreat to their hostels or residences after 5pm.
- Access to academic buildings beyond the college timing and on holidays without written permission from the concerned HOD/ Principal will be treated as a case of indiscipline for all.
- Keep the campus neat and clean. Do not put any waste anywhere in the campus except in the waste baskets kept.
- All are requested to put off the lights, fan and close the windows before leaving their respective places.
- Consumption of intoxicants / psychotropic substances in any form or smoking or using chewing gum, pan masala etc. are strictly prohibited in the campus.
- It is strongly advised to refrain from activities such as scribbling or noting on walls, door or furniture which could deface the college and destroy the academic ambiance.
- Carefully handle the furniture, equipments, fixtures and appliances of the college and lab. Careless handling/misuse of the above could result personal injuries or damage to property.
- Follow safety precautions near moving machines and electrical installations. In the event of damage of property, the responsible students will have to bear the cost of replacement/repair with fine.
- Nobody is permitted to arrange any unauthorized celebrations and decorations of any magnitude in the campus.
- Nobody is permitted to distribute or display (both physically and electronically) material such as notices, banners, X'mas stars etc. in the campus without the permission of the competent authority.
- All are responsible for his/her belongings. Valuables should be kept under safe custody.
- All are requested to use only studs and small chain in the college and clinicals. The college will not take any responsibility for any loss of valuables.
- Political activity in any form is not permitted in the College campus. Unauthorized meetings, propaganda work, processions or fund collections in the name of the college are forbidden within the College, hostels, and outside the college.
- Nobody is allowed to address directly to the higher authorities or Government without the permission from the college principal.
- Direct communications intended for any higher authority must be submitted through the principal who will forward them if he/she considers it desirable. Students desirous of addressing the principal by letter must do so separately.
- Any violation of the above rules will attract the disciplinary actions as per the college policies or any course of corrective measure as found suitable by any staff member or higher authority of the College.
- Expulsion from the College is enough for expulsion from the hostel.
- In case of any instance of noncompliance of existing rules or any observed matter/behavior that deviates from the vision and mission of TCN, will lead to the initiation disciplinary procedure by filling in a standard form which in turn will be submitted to the enquiry committee of TCN and further proceedings will be initiated.
- Harassing juniors, ill treatment to other fellow students or any such form of ragging is objectionable and liable to be treated as criminal offence by the law enforcing agencies as per the directives of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.
- Misbehavior towards girl students, use of threat or violence against members of the staff or fellow students will be considered as very serious cases of misconduct.
BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS
Respect and Conduct : All students must interact with each other and all staff memebers respectfully and courteously.
Gifts: Students must not offer gifts to staff memebers or attempt to influence them in any manner. Such actions are strictly prohibited.
Event Planning: Prior to organizing any event within the college premises/hostel/community students must obtain permission from the Principal. Unauthorized events or celebrations are not permitted.
Personal Functions: Students are not permitted to organize or conduct functions for any staff member, including farewells or other personal events. All such functions will be arranged and managed by the college administration.
USE OF MOBILES AND SOCIAL MEDIA
All are advised to follow the TCN policy regarding usage of Mobile phone and Social media.
The purpose of this policy is to establish clear cut guidelines regarding the usage of mobile phones and social media inside the college /hostel campus.
This policy is applicable to all those who enter the campus.
Realizing the importance of communication and the possible impact of mobile phone/ social media usage the following guidelines are arrived at.
- Students are allowed to use mobile phones within the college/hostel campus during the time slot specified by the principal.
- Accessing Social Networking Sites such as Facebook, Istagram ,Whatsapp, Twitter etc. is prohibited within the college/hostel campus however access to these sites are permitted in hostel/college building during time slots specified by the principal.
- Nobody is allowed to upload videos, photos etc causing damage to the reputation of the college in any social media without the permission from the Principal.
- Students who are staying in college hostels should not bring the mobile phones to the college.
- Day scholars carrying mobile phones to the college shall deposit the same in the designated place before 8 AM and can collect the same after 5 PM.
- The mobile phones shall be kept in silent mode while depositing in the designated place.
- All the staff members are requested to follow the instructed Mobile phone policy as prescribed by the TCN Authority.
Authorized Content: Any content related to the college that is to be uploaded on social media will be posted by designated persons authorized by the college. Such content must receive prior approval from the Principal before being shared publicly.
EXTRA CURRICULAR AND CO CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
- Students are expected to make use of academic, co-curricular and extracurricular facilities available to the optimum levels. This will certainly make them physically fit, academically competent, mentally alert and socially sensitive.
- Students who intend to represent the college in intercollegiate events shall take prior permission from the concerned head of the department and Principal of the college.
- The selection will be based on parameters such as academic performance, attendance, character, existing academic pressure and competence of the student in the proposed event for participation.
- The College Union will be formed as per KUHS recommendations.
- Membership in the recognized Student Nurses association is compulsory.
CLINICALS
- All other students duty and off will be arranged by the concerned teacher
- No students will change their planned off / duty without prior permission from the concerned teacher.
- All students are responsible for the total care of the allotted patients.
- No students will go early from the duty without handing over the patients to the concerned staff.
- Students are allowed to use small studs and small chain only.
- Students are allowed to enter in the hospital wards with prior permission from the Class Coordinator/ principal other than duty hours.
- Boys must have short haircut always. Long hair will not be allowed and should be in clean shave.
- A student nurse is not allowed to receive gift or gratuity of any sort at any time from professional practicing areas especially from the patients or their relatives.
RULES FOR THE EXAMINATIONS
- Class Examinations, written, practical and viva will be conducted regularly to assess the student’s progress.
- Since the marks obtained in these examinations will be taken into consideration in determining the results of the university examinations, the rule for the conduct of these examinations will be the same as for the University Examinations.
- Before entering the examination hall, all books, notes, mobile phones and papers should be left outside. Candidates must provide themselves with pens, pencils and drawing materials. Answer books or paper will be supplied.
- Candidates are required to maintain strict silence in the examination hall.
- During internal examinations of 3 hr period, students are not allowed to leave the hall within one hour from the beginning of the exam, and students have to occupy the seat 5 minutes before the commencement of the examination.
- Candidates are prohibited from communicating with or copying from each other and from communicating with any person outside the examination hall.
- Any candidate detected violating these rules will be sent out of the room forthwith and the matter reported to the Principal.
- In the case of malpractice in the class examination by any student, he/she would be immediately sent out of the examination hall and dealt with as per University Examination Rules.
- During university examinations candidates should take their place in the examination hall at least 45 minutes before the time scheduled. Students will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after the stipulated time given by the University. Students will be allowed to leave the examination hall only after the exam gets over.
- During university examinations, students are not allowed to wear overcoats in the examination hall and items such as pencil boxes, valets, bottles including water bottles and watches including wrist watches are prohibited in the examination hall as per the University rules.
- Students should produce at the time of exam their university Id and hall ticket. Only ordinary blue/black ball point pens are allowed for the examination.
- Use of washroom during examination shall not ordinarily be permitted.
- Every candidate should write his or her register number legibly on the outer cover of his/her answer book. Students are expected to write only answers of questions on the answer book. They are prohibited from writing any other matter, failing which the paper will be considered as invalid.
- NB: 80% attendance for both theory, and practical classes and at least minimum of internal assessment marks are mandatory for appearing university examination.
VISITING
Parents are permitted to visit students in the college between 12pm and 12.50pm with the permission of the Principal.
COMMUNICATION
For any communication to the college, parents are requested to make phone calls between 10am and 4pm on working days except in emergencies.
PAYMENTS AND DUES
- Pay fees, mess bills etc. in advance or in time.
- In special situations if not able to pay the fees on due date, stating the reason, write an application to the Principal and obtain permission for another date for payment fees. Delay in payment after this date will be fined.
- The student must clear all the dues to the college one week before the commencement of every university exam.
- If any student discontinues the course, he/she shall clear all dues for the remaining duration of the course for obtaining the original certificates.
CORRESPONDENCE
- Students are forbidden to address directly the higher authorities or Government.
- Direct communications intended for any higher authority must be submitted through the principal who will forward them if he/she considers it desirable. Students desirous of addressing the principal by letter must do so separately.
- Any violation of the above rules will invite disiciplary actions in the form of warning, bringing of Parents or any course of corrective measure as found suitable by the higher authority of the College.
- Expulsion from the College is enough for expulsion from the hostel.
- In case of any instance of noncompliance of existing rules or any observed matter/behavior that deviates from the vision and mission of TCN, all the staff members are empowered to initiate disciplinary procedure by filling in a standard form which in turn may lead to the constitution of an enquiry committee and further proceedings.
Compliance and Disciplinary Action
Adherence: Compliance with the dress code, behavioral guidelines, function-related policies, and social media guidelines is mandatory. Deviations will be subject to review and disciplinary action.
