Ragging is a social crime

As per Hon’ble supreme court verdict & Directives of Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) Any type of physical or psychological ragging is strictly prohibited within the campus.

 

Consequences

Any student found contravening these regulations will be expelled from college, apart from imposition of hefty fine/ imprisonment. As per Hon’ble Supreme court order, he/she would not be eligible for admission in any other institute.

It is compulsory for each student and his/her parent/Guardian to submit an online undertaking each academic year.

ANTI RAGGING COMMITTEE

The main objective of this committee is Prevention and Prohibition of ragging in our college. Ragging is a criminal offence as per the Supreme Court Verdict. It adversely impacts the standards of higher education. So it is mandatory to implement anti ragging measures and monitoring measures in every college.

1. The prospectus issued for admission clearly mentions that ragging is totally banned and any one found guilty of ragging or abetting ragging is liable to be punished.
2. An affidavit is signed by all students which states  that they will not engage themselves in any activities constituting ragging(The affidavit is signed by their parents stating that their child will not engage themselves in any activities constituting ragging.)
3. Awareness classes are given to the students regarding what constitutes ragging,what he/she  should  do if she had experienced ragging and the after effects of involving themselves in any ragging related activities.
4. Each batch of fresher is divided into small groups and group is assigned to a member of the  staff(A mentor) The staff member  interacts with them and  the students are free to discuss any problem faced by them and the mentor will  extent necessary help.
5. We have round the clock facility for assistance of professional councilor approved by the college management   to council fresher’s in order to prepare them for the life ahead, particularly for adjusting to life in hostels.
6. To make aware the dehumanising effect of ragging big posters stating the approach of institution is   displayed on notice boards, hostel and other common places.
7. We have Tighten security in all vulnerable locations.
8. We have round the clock patrolling by the members of Anti ragging squad.
