Awareness Program on World Mental Health Day 2019
An awareness program was conducted on world mental health day on 10th October 2019 at 9.00 am in our SHMC Auditorium. The main aim of the program was to raise awareness of the scale of suicide around the world and the role that each of us can play to help to prevent it.
Rev. Sr. Joice Maria S H ( Clinical Psychologist SHMC) conducted an awareness class for parents and learning disability assessment was done fo the children.
A flash mob was enacted by B Sc. Nursing students on “ Suicide prevention and the role that everyone can play to prevent it”
World Diabetes Day
Thiruhrudaya College of Nursing in collaboration with S H Medical Centre Celeberated world diabetes day on 14th November 2020. Celeberations commenced with Diabetes Awareness Walk from Police Ground to Nagampadom Bus Stand. Flash mob regarding Prevention and control of Diabetes was done by 3rd Year students at Nagampadom Bus stand. Our students assisted free Medical Camp organized for the patients at S H Medical Centre Hospital. An exhibition regarding Diabetes was conducted by the students.
World Aids Day
Theme: :”COMMUNITY MAKES THE DIFFERENCE”
With the aim of generating awareness about AIDS among public, the health wing of District Hospital Kottayam has organized an awareness rally and a flash mob competition on 30th November 2019mat Gandhi square Kottayam. Most of the nursing institutions and various health departments of district has participated in the program.
The program commenced at 10.30am at the collectorate with the inaugural note by District collector Mr. Sudheer Babu, followed by rally to the Gandhi Square. The flash mob competition was organized in which seven teams had participated. Our 4th year students won 1st prize in flash mob and 2nd prize in rally.
World Disability Day
Theme: The future is accessible
With the goal of identifying and provoking the inner talents of disabled students, 4th year B Sc Nursing students conducted Disability day Program on 29th December 20`19 at Njanodaya School of deaf and dumb at Villonni based on university project. The program started at 8.30am with the medical camp conducted under the guidance of Dr. Ajith Pillai ( RMO) and Dr. Parvathy (Consultant Paediatrician SHMC). The medical camp was followed by cultural activities including mime, dance, exhibition and powerpoint presentation regarding personal hygiene, environmental hygiene, nutrition, good life style and sleep. At the end of the program drawing competition was conducted for the students and prizes were awarded for the winners.
Corona Awareness Program
An awareness class and flashmob was done by the 4th year B Sc Nursing students in various colleges, schools and PHCs under the circular given to about 3000 students and 75 teachers. The awareness class and flashmob was very effective to prevent the spreading of disease. The program were conducted in the following institutions.
