Hostel

 

SH HOSTEL THIRUHRUDAYA COLLEGE OF NURSING

  1. Every student  has to remember that the hostel is her home, and she should behave professionally in the campus as well as outside, in such a manner to bring credit to herself and to the institute.
  2. Students are requested to be aware of all information’s that are put up on the notice board.
  3. Students are expected to act in such a manner that an atmosphere conducive to effective study prevails in the hostel,and  follow the study time strictly.

 

 

 

 

 

ATTENDANCE

  1. Hostel attendances are under control of warden.
  2. Students are requested to be in the hostel before 6 pm and should be present for roll call in morning and evening as per the instruction of the principal/warden.
  3. Students shall not leave the hostel without prior permission from the principal and warden.

 

OVERNIGHT OUTING GUIDELINES

  1. In emergency,   for overnight pass , they shall apply to the principal stating reasons for leaving and address of destination.
  2. In scheduled holydays, students will allow for overnight stay with parents, grandparents, parents brother or sister and own brother and sister if needed  with prior permission. No other permission letter will be accepted from parents for overnight. 
  3. Students those who wish to go home are requested to fill the overnight pass and get it signed by warden one day ahead the day of leave, and get it sanctioned from the principal and should be submitted after coming from home with the signature of parent / authorized person  and submit to the warden.  
  4. For overnight or outing students have to sign in the home going/outing register respectively and inform the warden.
  5. Students, who  leave the hostel without information, shall be deemed to be missing and police authorities or parents will intimate as such. 

VISITORS

  1. Visitors shall be received in the allotted visiting areas of hostel on permitted days and hours. . No visitors are allowed in the ward, canteen and other hospital/hostel premises. Violation of this rule is subjected to disciplinary action. 
  2. Only the visitors authorized by the parents at the time of admission will be permitted to meet the students.
  3. Visitors should enter their names in the visitor’s book and are not allowed to enter in to the hostel rooms.

 

USE OF MOBILE PHONES

  1. Students are permitted to make or receive phone calls from home  either own phone or hostel phone only on Sundays or as it is arranged by the warden.In emergency parents are requested to make phone calls to the hostel phone (except on holidays and Sundays).
  2. No one is allowed to keep mobile phones and other electronic gadgets such as music related systems, still camera, video camera, computers in the hostel. If it is needed it requires special permission from the principal. Those unauthorized mobile handsets and electronic gadgets shall be confiscated by the warden or tutors. This shall involve a monitory penalty.
  3. It is a ragging free zone. Ragging is a cognizable offence, punishable under the law and is strictly banned. Any students involved in any kind of ragging will be liable for disciplinary action.

 

DISCIPLINE

  1. Hostellers shall treat their fellow hostellers, institute staff, hostel staff, mess staff with dignity and decorum.
  2. No one is allowed to use abusive language or nick name in the hostel.
  3. Students are instructed to keep their rooms neat, clean and tidy.
  4. Warden of the hostel or any officials of the college may inspect any room at any time.
  5. Garbage and wastage are to be discarded in to the garbage box available nearby hostel premises.
  6. Students are requested to use water and electricity judiciously.
  7. All the lights must be put off at 11 pm. Students are expected to retire at this time.
  8. They should put off the fan, light, tap and lock their property, when they are out of the rooms.
  9. Students must not keep valuable in their rooms like cash or gold, the authority will not be responsible for any loss.
  10. No functions or celebrations shall be organized at hostel or college premises without the permission of the principal or warden.
  11. No one should use the belongings of other students without their consent. 
  12. All matters relating to differences among students and complaints against theft shall be brought to the notice of the principal. No police complaints will be lodged by the students before taking prior permission from the principal.
  13. Any complaints from the neighbors or society will result in strict action.
  14. College will not be responsible for acts of students which will leads to disturbances of public peace and tranquility or cases of law and order in which they are knowingly or unknowingly involved in  outside the college& hostel campus
  15. No notice shall be put in the hostel by any students directly unless such permission has being granted by the principal/warden.
  16. No students shall raise or assist others to raise any subscription in the hostel on any accounts without prior permission from. principal / warden
  17. Hostellers are not allowed to patronize food / soft drinks /snacks from unhygienic shop and road side vendors to avoid infection to themselves and spreading amongst fellow hostellers.
  18. Students will not enter the rooms of other students without permission of inmates.
  19. Hostel accommodation (room) can be changed by the management if they found it necessary at any point of time.
  20. All students have to attend the personality development programmes organized by the authority.
  21. All the catholic students have to participate in the daily morning mass and evening prayers.
  22. Students shall have to abide by the decisions of the hostel warden with respect to enforcement of hostel rules failing which strict disciplinary action may take.
  23. All decisions taken by the management are final and binding on the students.
  24. The warden will submit a periodical evaluation to the Principal about the students those who are staying in the hostel.
