Aims

AIMS

  1. To prepare nurses with a sound educational programme in nursing to enable them to function as efficient members of the health team, beginning with the competencies for all kinds of health care settings.
  2. To help nurse to develop an ability to co-operate and co-ordinate with members of the health team in the prevention of disease, promotion of health and rehabilitation of the sick.
  3. To help nurses in their personal and professional development, so that they are able to make maximum contribution to the society as useful and productive individuals, citizens as well as efficient nurses.
  4. To prepare nurses to keep pace with latest professional & technological developments and utilize this for providing nursing care services.
  5. To provide a base for further professional education and specialization in Nursing.
  6. To provide facilities to conduct various researches and to practice EBP in clinical settings to achieve high quality prioritized nursing care.
  7. To cater the educational needs of large number of young girls from middle class lower middle class and minority groups

 

OBJECTIVES

At the completion of BSc Nursing Programme the graduates will be able to :
 

  1. assume responsibilities as competent professional nurses and midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.
  2. assume the role of  competent and caring professional nurses with adequate indepth scientific knowledge and technical skills to provide care in a variety of clinical settings.
  3. make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights, and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health functions, in the hospital, community nursing services and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice
  4. affirm the values and standards of the nursing profession
  5. implement the  standards of nursing practice, nursing education and nursing service, as defined by the Indian nursing council and state Nursing Council.
  6. promote and protect the economic, general and professional welfare of nurses and to raise the standards of nursing profession.
  7. utilize holistic knowledge and concepts of human caring phenomena in meeting the health needs of individuals, families and communities.
  8. demonstrate professional accountability through responsible self directed behavior, consistent with ethical and legal standards of nursing.
  9. inculcate the desire for continued learning for their personal and professional development.
  10. support women empowerment initiatives.
